America. 1775. Sylvia, a British actress from the West End, meets Fairfax, an officer of the Virginia Rangers. Another actor arrives, bringing with him a letter for General Washington. The loyalists try to prevent the letter’s delivery, but through Fairfax’s cleverness the letter manages to get through and Sylvia and Fairfax are happily united.
