Synopsis:
1799. The Franch Riviera. Count Lavalette falls in love with Teresa, a traveling singer, and they marry. They encounter Napoleon Bonapart, who uwittingly tucks their wedding certificate into his hat band, leaving the lovers with no proof of their marriage. Years later, the lovers and Napoleon meet again to sort through their pasts.
